Dr. Gajbhiye is a distinguished neuroscientist at Woxsen University, where she leads the Human-Machine Interaction Lab and focuses on innovative solutions at the intersection of AI and neuroscience.

Background and Expertise

Dr. Gajbhiye holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Signal Processing from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. Her research has significantly contributed to the field of biomedical engineering, specifically in EEG signal processing. With over seven publications in esteemed journals, she has explored advanced methods to eliminate artifacts from EEG signals—crucial for applications such as seizure detection, emotion recognition, and cognitive assessments.

Her thesis, titled “Multiscale Hybrid Approaches for the Elimination of Different Artifacts from EEG Signals,” delves into cutting-edge techniques for improving the accuracy of EEG data, making it indispensable for both clinical and research settings.

Professional Journey

Before joining Woxsen University, Dr. Gajbhiye worked as a DSP engineer at Nirvesh Enterprises, where she was involved in research and development for in-ear EEG and fNIRS signals aimed at brain stroke detection. Her academic journey includes a Master’s degree from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) and practical experience in Python programming at Infosys.

Dr. Gajbhiye’s contributions extend beyond academia; she actively engages in projects that harness machine learning and AI to enhance neuroinformatics, paving the way for future innovations in psychiatry and mental health.
